- ➤ Tonight, the Dubuque Museum of Art at the Dupaco Voices Building on Jackson Street will host the Envision 2030 Finale from 5 to 7—Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque and the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce will unveil the top 10 ideas chosen from community submissions, and visitors must RSVP. - ➤ Community leaders picked 10 main projects from over 3,000 ideas for Dubuque’s future in the Envision 2030 initiative, with plans that include a children’s museum and a sports hub (to serve all ages). A planning session (November 10, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) at the Q Casino Resort Reflections Room invites residents to help bring these projects to life. KCRG
- ➤ Dawson Elliott of Epworth was named the American Legion of Iowa Eagle Scout of the Year after leading a community project that built an outdoor rosary path at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Peosta (he earned statewide recognition and a college scholarship). WJOD
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ With clocks set to fall back in early November, Dubuque drivers face a 300% spike in deer-vehicle collisions as groggy reaction times and active deer on rural roads raise the risk of serious accidents—motorists are urged to slow down and stay alert. WJOD
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Thirteen students at Dubuque Senior are playing Beep Baseball today, a game that uses audio cues—such as a beeping ball and bases—to let blind and visually impaired players hit, field and run while forming bonds with teammates. The program gives these young athletes a chance to experience America's pastime in a way that meets their unique needs. KCRG
