- ➤ Kennedy Mall will have extended holiday hours through Dec. 23 with regular hours 9am to 10pm, Christmas Eve hours 8am to 5pm, and a closure on Christmas, and the Washington Middle School Orchestra performs at 10am today — free gift wrapping and Santa visits are offered this weekend. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Enrollment in Iowa public schools dropped while private school enrollment increased due to education savings account vouchers (up to $8,000 per student) introduced in 2023. Dubuque lost over 20 percent of its certified enrollment as families shifted to nonpublic options. KCRG
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Travelers impacted by Denver Air Connection ending Dubuque–O’Hare flights on January 15 will receive $175 from Dubuque Regional Airport for extra ground transport. Affected passengers with departing flights on or before January 15 and returns later must rebook from a different airport and submit an itinerary. KWWL
