- ➤ Laughing Crab has delayed its opening in Dubuque from December to January 2026 — the chain announced on its Facebook page Dec. 4. It will operate in the former Carlos O'Kelly's building and serve Cajun seafood and popular seafood boils. WJOD

- ➤ John Deere Dubuque Works is installing a mural by acclaimed Midwestern artist Greg Gossel that features local landmarks & reflects the company’s core values. The collaborative project transforms the mile-long factory floor where 3,000 employees serve 2,600 customers annually. KWWL

- ➤ Fidelity Bank & Trust awarded $100,000 to Beckman Catholic High School and St. Francis Xavier Elementary’s joint capital campaign at Dyersville. The donation boosts the One Faith + One Family + One Future drive that has already received over $7.2 million in gifts and pledges. Radio Dubuque

- ➤ The Iowa DNR expects over 100,000 deer hunters to begin the gun season tomorrow through Dec. 10, with a second season from Dec. 13 through Dec. 21; they stressed that hunters inspect their gear, sight in guns, and wear blaze orange for safety. Radio Dubuque

- ➤ On Dec. 18, the Iowa and Wisconsin Departments of Transportation will implode the main Lansing bridge section at about 9:30 a.m. to clear the way for a new Mississippi River crossing (expected to open in 2027); car ferry service stops Dec. 17 and Iowa 26 will close briefly for safety. KWWL
