COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Residents are urged to shovel snow around local fire hydrants to give firefighters quick access amid a foot of snowfall and additional inches expected; they should clear a 3-foot space and a direct path to the street to help prevent delays during emergencies. WJOD
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ After record snowfall, Dubuque officials remind property owners that sidewalks must be cleared within 48 hours of a snow event – failure may lead to a $750 fine added to property taxes. Residents should also clear access ramps for neighborhood safety. WJOD
- ➤ Comiskey Park in Dubuque will get upgrades next year after City Council approved a $2.5 million bid from Portzen Construction (nearly $900K under budget). A federal grant with matching funds will pay for basketball courts, a soccer field, and walking trails, with work starting in spring and finishing by Oct. Radio Dubuque

- ➤ Sundown Mountain Resort in Dubuque will open its 53rd season tomorrow from 3 to 9 p.m., with regular hours continuing through Dec. 20 as snowmaking secures safe slopes & a $15 lift ticket discount is offered with a toy donation at the window. KWWL
