CULTURE NEWS

  • Reflections in the Park marks 30 years of holiday cheer at Louis Murphy Park as Hillcrest Family Services and volunteers light up the park. The fundraiser runs nightly from 5pm to 10pm from November 27 through January 4, 2026—tickets cost $12 at the gate or $10 at Fidelity Bank & Trust.  WJOD

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Dubuque is launching its LIFE program with both synchronous and asynchronous online courses for adults 23 and older starting in the spring. The program—offering five-week courses that lead to bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fields like business, human resources, and health care—is available in updated classrooms in Dubuque and Cedar Rapids.  KCRG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City Manager has asked City Council to review $650,000 in funding from local businesses to help support Denver Air Connection’s daily flights from Dubuque Regional Airport to Chicago O’Hare—if the funding goal is not met at the December 15 meeting, the airline will end service by March 16. The contract, which has seen 53% average ridership despite $3.6 million in federal and local contributions since November 2024, may be cut if flights do not become 80% full.  KCRG

HEALTH NEWS

  • Walgreens recalled over 41,000 bottles of nasal spray with xylitol after the FDA found raw milk contamination that may cause temporary health issues—this recall affects products sold in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin and customers should return affected bottles for a full refund.  WJOD
  • Prairie Farms recalled milk from its Dubuque facility after about 320 gallons were sold before it was discovered on Monday that the product may contain food-grade cleaning agents—customers are advised to discard or return the fat-free milk with a December 8 expiration date. The milk was distributed to stores in Illinois and Wisconsin.  KCRG
