Families in eastern Iowa continue to rely on local food pantries even after the government shutdown ended, with HACAP reporting that many sought food assistance when SNAP benefits paused.
HACAP spent nearly one-third of its annual food budget in six weeks and will track the need further as donations are welcomed (especially with the holidays coming).
