  • The Dubuque Regional Humane Society is featuring Lynx, a 2-year-old dog who came in as a stray and shows a playful, loving nature—he needs to be the only pet in his new home. Interested adopters can visit the shelter at 4242 Chavenelle Road or call to schedule an appointment.  WJOD
  • Eastern Iowans face food challenges as the government shutdown and SNAP pause have increased the need for meal donations. Local groups like Hames Homes and Stack Wellness Cafe are stepping in by collecting donations and using the GiftAMeal app to support nearly 4,000 residents — including seniors, veterans, and families.  KCRG

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Travelers from Dubuque now have a new flight option as Delta and Denver Air Connection partnered to let passengers book connecting flights directly through Delta’s website via Chicago O’Hare. The revised morning schedule adjusted on Nov 1 lets flights depart at 7:15 a.m. and arrive at 8:20 a.m. — a $100 round-trip rebate is offered on tickets bought through Dec 31.  WJOD

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Dubuque Community School District bond for $70 million failed to meet the required 60% approval, receiving 56.84% of votes from a turnout above 32%. The proposal would have closed Jefferson Middle School and demolished Washington Middle School to build a new facility—while Roosevelt Middle School remained open.  KCRG
  • Preliminary eastern Iowa school bond votes show mixed results today—voters rejected proposals in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Fairfield, and AGWSR while measures in Independence, Aplington-Parkersburg, Belle Plaine, North Cedar, South Winneshiek, and Union were approved or remain pending.  KCRG

  • Iowa beat Robert Morris 101 to 69 in a Tuesday night season opener as new coach Ben McCollum’s team built a 14 to 0 run early and led 49 to 26 at halftime —Bennett Stirtz scored 19 points and former Drake players helped add key scores.  KWWL
