- ➤ Dubuque County Conservation is taking ownership of a 116 acre property near Cascade that includes a lake to create a new outdoor recreation area. The project may allow for trails and boating opportunities and welcomes public input on its future features. Radio Dubuque
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Iowa residents will set their clocks back on November 2nd from 2am to 1am to gain an extra hour of sleep as they follow the national Daylight Saving Time routine. Lawmakers have discussed making the change permanent but Dubuque will continue the twice-a-year clock adjustments until any new law is passed. WJOD
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A nearly $3 million expansion at Crescent Community Health Center will add specialized dental services and cut patient wait times to a few weeks by boosting its capacity with more dental chairs and specialists — public and private donations funded the upgrade. The center is offering tours today from 4 to 6 p.m. KCRG
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Iowa Realtors reported that in September the housing market saw renewed activity as new listings increased by 7.2% statewide and by 15.6% in Dubuque County—sparked by expected interest rate decreases. The statewide median sale price rose 6.5% to $245,000 while Dubuque County reached $261,000, showing a growing demand for homes. Radio Dubuque

- ➤ The Iowa women's basketball team has added players from all over the country and world, including Oregon, California, Alaska, Atlanta and the Dominican Republic — the team will play an exhibition game on Oct. 30 and a season opener on Nov. 3 with sold-out season tickets.
