- ➤ The Dubuque Coalition for Nonviolence hosted its third annual Die-In event on Wednesday at Washington Park to educate locals about gun violence in the United States. The event featured 120 tombstones that represented daily gun violence deaths — with Art Roche from Iowans for Gun Safety noting its impact was bigger than the Newton school shootings 15 years ago. - ➤ Marshalls will debut next summer at Kennedy Mall in a 24-thousand square foot space next to the Books-A-Million store — the Cafaro Company said the new retail chain will boost mall offerings. Radio Dubuque
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Later this weekend, the Iowa Department of Transportation will begin prep work to replace the Catfish Creek Bridge on Highway 20 with lane closures from 7 PM to 6 AM Sunday through Thursday nights—lasting up to six weeks and causing detours at the Century Drive intersection. The project will add wider shoulders and new guardrails and full bridge construction is planned for spring 2026. WJOD
