- ➤ Dubuque residents are invited to help shape a new community space at Foundry Square in the Historic Millwork District by giving ideas through an online survey open until October 12th — a public work session will be held on November 12th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Jule Operations & Training Center to guide the design. - ➤ Rosco is a 6-year-old, 63-pound dog known for his playful spirit and love for snuggles who is waiting for his forever family at the Dubuque Regional Humane Society located at 4242 Chavenelle Road. The society welcomes calls at 563-582-6766 to learn more about adopting him. WJOD

- ➤ Dubuque Initiatives extended its $100 airfare rebate program until October 31 for travelers buying roundtrip tickets on Denver Air Connection flights from Dubuque Regional Airport—nearly 500 rebate requests were submitted by September 23. KWWL
- ➤ State Rep Shannon Lundgren of Dubuque County announced her bid for Iowa's Second Congressional District to succeed Congresswoman Ashley Hinson who is running for U.S. Senate—she joins five other candidates in the race. KWWL
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Iowa Department of Natural Resources officials reported a rise in sick and dead birds in Dubuque, where H5 avian influenza was confirmed in Canada geese at two sites. Residents are advised to avoid contact with these birds — poultry producers and waterfowl hunters must follow safety guidelines to keep everyone safe. KWWL
