The City of Dubuque Planning Services Department is asking residents to give feedback on turning a temporary parking lot into a new plaza in the Historic Millwork District through an online survey open until October 12 — in-person sessions will be held in November and December to help shape the design.

Emmaus University in Dubuque received its largest gift in school history— a $1.5 million donation from a longtime supporter who left the gift following his death; the donation will boost support for students by funding a $6,000 Founder's Grant for each undergraduate.

Iowa’s Region 8 Regional Transit Authority—RTA—said a funding shortfall may jeopardize rides for thousands to work and school in Delaware, Dubuque and Jackson counties.

The agency faces a $142-thousand deficit in fiscal year 2026 that will rise to $311-thousand by 2028 and is asking Dubuque County for $50-thousand and the other counties for $25-thousand to keep bus service running.
