BUSINESS NEWS

  • Customers lined up at Dubuque’s DaaBIN Store on Wednesdays when the doors opened at 9 a.m. to grab a 19-gallon bag for $10 — the store at 4470 Dodge Street offers mixed items and restocks on Thursdays and Fridays.  WJOD

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Yesterday Mae Hingtgen filed papers to run for a four year term on the Dubuque Community School Board—she is the executive director of the East Central Intergovernmental Association. She is set to appear as a candidate in the November election.  Radio Dubuque

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Dubuque Planning Services is asking residents for input on a new outdoor community space planned to replace a temporary parking lot in the historic Millwork District. The online survey is open until October 12th + in-person sessions will be held in November and December to help shape the design.  Radio Dubuque
  • Dubuque Mayor Brad Cavanagh will give the annual State of the City address next Friday at 8:30 in the Grande Ballroom at Hotel Julien—residents must register by contacting the Chamber of Commerce to attend.  Radio Dubuque
  • Iowa Highway 3 between Boy Scout Road and Sageville will begin construction on Monday and continue through mid-November—this project will see the road remain open in winter but fully close next spring around April 1 for reconstruction.  Radio Dubuque
