- ➤ On Friday, 75 volunteers will rappel off the 13-story MidwestOne Bank Building in downtown Dubuque to raise money for the United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States as many rappelers dress in costume and the public is invited to watch — a street festival with live music will follow from 6 to 9. - ➤ Pet owners in Dubuque are invited by the Dubuque Regional Humane Society to enter their photos in the Best In Show DRHS 2026 Calendar Contest — a fundraiser for animal care — with submissions accepted through Sunday, September 14. Voting opened on Monday, September 8 and will continue until Sunday, September 21 to help support the society’s efforts. WJOD
- ➤ A family lost their 22-year-old son in a motorcycle crash on August 18th and now honors his legacy by hosting a fundraiser on September 13 at Culbies Event Center — the event will feature live music and a silent auction to raise scholarships for students and promote motorcycle safety while celebrating his choice as an organ donor.
