- ➤ A new study by Niche and Stacker ranked Iowa’s top 30 counties to raise a family based on metrics such as school quality, safety, housing, and cost of living. Eastern areas including Dubuque, Linn, and Johnson counties appeared on the list—even though none were ranked first—and locals are weighing in on the study’s findings. WJOD
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wildlife officials warn that the Asian snakehead fish is moving closer to Iowa after sightings in Missouri and Illinois—this tough fish can live out of water and crawl on land, and if it breeds here it may hurt local fish and birds. The agency plans to increase monitoring to keep local waterways safe. WJOD
