ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Dubuque Police say Highway 20 and Dodge Street westbound from Locust Street to the Hill and Bryant Street exit remains closed due to a traffic accident (drivers should use an alternate route until the road reopens).  Radio Dubuque

CRIME NEWS

  • 23-year-old Naiche Jacobs was arrested by Dubuque Police and charged with first degree arson after he started a small fire on a loading dock behind a downtown building at 4-99 Main Street that was quickly put out by Dubuque Firefighters with no damage reported; he is scheduled to appear in Dubuque County District Court on June 30th ($25,000 bond).  Radio Dubuque

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A federal judge in Iowa blocked parts of the Biden rule that required nursing homes to have a registered nurse on duty 24 hours a day and provide 3.48 hours of nursing care per resident—saying the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services went beyond what Congress allowed as 19 states and Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird argued the rule would drive up costs and force closures.  The Gazette
