- ➤ The Audrey Hammer 4th of July Ice Cream Social will take place on July 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2241 Lincoln Ave—this community event will feature live music, games, crafts and a Pie-oneer Fundraiser where local figures including Heather Green and Mayor Brad Cavanagh will get a whipped cream pie to support the Mathias Ham Historic Site. - ➤ Dubuque’s Kwik Care program has donated over $2.2 million to local non-profits through its monthly spare change campaign since 2002 — a milestone reached with help from customers and local partners like Kwik Stop, Dairy Queen, and Rainbo Oil. - ➤ 19—year-old Sylvester Hubbard, who was arrested earlier this month for allegedly pointing a handgun at another teen during a brawl at Comiskey Park, is scheduled to enter a plea on July 7 in Dubuque County District Court and faces charges of willful injury-bodily injury, going armed with intent, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, and participation in a riot following a June 9 incident.
