GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dubuque City Council will consider two proposals on Monday night to redevelop historic buildings: Plastic Center, Inc. wants to turn 408 W 5th Street into nine rental apartments while 1301 Central, LLC plans to change 1301 Central Avenue into 30 apartments and seven storefronts. The first project is projected to cost about $3.2 million + $450,000 in incentives and the second about $8 million + $1.3 million in incentives. Radio Dubuque
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Iowa Health and Human Services warns that Lyme disease cases will increase in Eastern Iowa this summer due to more ticks in wooded areas (higher deer and rodent populations help ticks breed) and encourages residents to use repellent and check for ticks after outdoor activities. Residents are urged to take these precautions as tick activity rises in June, July, and August. WJOD
