- ➤ United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States reported it is about $70,000 short of its fundraising goal for the fiscal year ending tomorrow due to fewer payroll deductions. The group said it may cut community grant programs & support if donations continue to fall short. Radio Dubuque
- ➤ The Dubuque Racing Association will celebrate its 40th anniversary on Thursday, June 5 from 5:30 to 7:30 at Reflections inside the Q-Casino+Resort with speeches by board members and city officials. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dubuque County schools enrolled 18 Native American students during the 2023-24 school year—an 80% increase from last year. Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School recorded the highest number with three Native American students out of 12,797 total county enrollments. Dubuque Times

- ➤ Dubuque City Council will consider two proposals to redevelop historic downtown properties using historic tax credits. Plastic Center, Inc.'s plan will restore 408 W 5th Street into nine rental units with an estimated cost of about $3.2 million and $450,000 in incentives—while 1301 Central, LLC's proposal will convert 1301 Central Avenue into 30 market-rate apartments and seven commercial storefronts at roughly $8 million with $1.3 million in incentives.
