EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Clarke University allocated $639,451 to its women's basketball teams in 2024, falling $73,679 short of the state average as reported by the U.S. Department of Education. Dubuque Times
- ➤ Loras College president Mike Doyle defended the institution’s progress after Forbes rated it D, citing record fundraising, profit gains and $11 million in debt repaid. The college aims to reduce half of its $38 million debt by 2030 — a plan that is ahead of schedule. KCRG

- ➤ One year ago, Iowa DNR officers found two federally endangered pallid sturgeon (ancient fish that help water quality) in the Des Moines River. They remind us to follow fishing rules and protect Iowa's waterways. WJOD
