The University of Dubuque will launch a new associate degree program for helicopter pilots this fall to address a shortage in EMS, law enforcement, and aerial firefighting sectors.
The pilot pathway will expand existing training resources with a new helicopter simulator.

Local naturalists and hikers have reported rare white and black squirrels across Iowa as genetic trait sightings spark community curiosity.
One white squirrel, noted for its leucism (occurring in about 1 in 100,000 births), was captured at a nearby park.
