- ➤ A Dubuque man, Douglas Winner (52) pleaded guilty to 2nd degree theft after he took jewelry from his elderly mother and sold the pieces to pawn shops, and he received a suspended five-year prison term with three years of probation. Radio Dubuque

- ➤ Loras College has held daily prayers with campus bells tolling at noon and photos of Pope Francis on display since he died Monday morning, and the campus community has gathered to honor his legacy. - ➤ Jason Davis, a lifelong Dubuque resident, nonprofit worker and former Army Ranger who serves on the Long Range Planning Advisory Commission, announced his candidacy for mayor and said his background prepares him to lead the city through its challenges — his campaign will focus on public safety, economic growth and fiscal transparency. Incumbent Mayor Brad Cavanagh, whose term ends in December and who is running for re-election on a record of infrastructure improvements and grant funding, is also seeking another term in office. - ➤ City of Dubuque earned a clean audit rating for its fiscal year 2024 financial statements—independent auditors confirmed the records fairly reflected the city's finances. The audit was conducted in line with accepted standards as required by state law. Radio Dubuque
