- ➤ Professional puppeteer Kirk Bixby from New York City will lead a four-day residency at the Bell Tower Theater from May 7-10, teaching puppetry to Bryant Elementary students and theater cast for a June production; he will host free events on May 9 at Carnegie Stout Public Library + theater. KWWL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A groundbreaking ceremony for Holy Family Catholic Schools’ Platform for Excellence: Inspiring Space project (a $30-million initiative) is set for Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Campus on Kane Street and will add a faith and fine arts auditorium, academic and innovation spaces, and athletic upgrades funded by private philanthropy. - ➤ Potosi School District will break ground by the end of the month to build a new elementary gym and renovate existing facilities after voters approved a $9.1M referendum in November 2024; later phases will upgrade the parking lot and high school gym and remodel the elementary gym in summer 2027.
