- ➤ Dubuque businesses have committed $829,810 to expand child care and have already created 223 slots and hired 77 workers—this investment could add 412 new slots and 184 hires later this year. KCRG
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, a North Liberty man already serving a 100 year sentence was handed another 50 year sentence after pleading guilty to charges of second degree sexual abuse, first degree burglary, and second degree robbery for an Iowa City attack on Sept. 6, 2022—his sentence follows similar crimes in Black Hawk County and he faces further charges in Linn County. - ➤ The trial for Gabriel Dominguez and Scott Wessels, charged with attempted murder after a stabbing of 21-year-old Hunter Guyon near 9th and Main Streets on October 26th, has been postponed to September 16th as both pleaded not guilty. Radio Dubuque

- ➤ Over 400 students from the tri-state area will attend the Skilled Trades Fair in Dubuque on April 24th and 25th at Portzen Construction Company—where they will try hands-on activities like welding, heavy equipment operation, and wiring circuits. Organized by the Dubuque Area Labor-Management Council and local sponsors, the event will provide a chance to explore new career paths in skilled trades. WJOD
