CULTURE NEWS

  • The City of Dubuque has selected 11 new sculptures for the 20th annual Art on the River exhibit, which will be installed early August and displayed through July (2027). A free family reception celebrating the works is set for Friday evening, August 7 at the Grand River Center.  Radio Dubuque

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Dubuque Community School District will eliminate 27 positions at the end of the school year to save $2 million. Three teachers and four staff members will lose their contracts while other workers transition into new roles next school year.  KCRG
  • The Dubuque Police and Fire Departments will host free two-day summer youth camps for local middle and high school students. The camp for 11 to 12-year-olds will be held on June 15-16 and the one for 13 to 18-year-olds will run on June 18-19 (registration via lottery closes May 3).  Radio Dubuque

  • Severe hail has affected vehicles across Iowa this spring, and local drivers are urged to verify their auto insurance coverage if they carry only liability.
