John Deere is adding workers as 21 employees return to Dubuque Works while 20 workers plus 8 others are set to rejoin at Davenport and Coffeyville sites, making 324 U.S. employees since January.
The company credits increased demand for construction, forestry, and drivetrain equipment for the move.

Dubuque Community Schools are planning to expand Roosevelt Middle School for more students and close Jefferson at the end of the 2027 to 2028 school year, with a May 11 public hearing to discuss $30 million in bonds, and the board approved a $185.5 million budget with a lower tax rate.
