ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 73-year-old East Dubuque woman—Kathleen Dulzo—lost control of her vehicle after a medical emergency shortly before noon Friday on West Station Road near Chetlain Lane and was taken by ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena with non-life-threatening injuries.  Radio Dubuque

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Dubuque’s aging sewer system and rapid growth have led the city to launch a Sanitary Sewer Asset Management Program that will invest $130 million over five years, including a $41 million Old Mill Road Lift Station set for completion in December 2026 (the city said it will work with property owners and developers to ease capacity issues). The City Council will review the proposed improvements at its public budget meeting on April 24.  Radio Dubuque

  • A WalletHub study found Iowa ranks among the top 10 least stressed states as affordable housing and lower work, money and health stress help keep residents calm. The report compared key stress factors across all states—showing Iowa ranked sixth overall.  WJOD
  • Nestlé USA announced that a limited number of Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s frozen meals sold in stores from August 2024 through March may contain wood-like material—customers who bought the affected items should return them to the retailer—this voluntary recall is in effect.  WJOD
