COMMUNITY NEWS

  • RAGBRAI announced its 53rd annual route from Onawa to Dubuque set for July 18 — 25, covering 391.4 miles across more than 20 towns. The week-long bike ride will include a stop in Dyersville near the Field of Dreams and will feature additional route details on May 1.  KWWL
  • RAGBRAI has announced its 53rd annual cycling event, which runs 391.4 miles from Onawa to Dubuque from July 18 to 25. Thousands of cyclists will visit local towns, including Dyersville (with its Field of Dreams stop), as the theme An Iowa Classic spotlights rural charm.  KWWL

CULTURE NEWS

  • Pop Evil will perform their What Remains Tour at the Q Showroom at Q Casino + Resort on Friday, April 24 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $25 and openers Sierra Pilot and Kamenar will energize the rock show.  WJOD

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Clayton Ridge schools have shortlisted two superintendent candidates—Jay Marley and Mindy Reimer—for the role to be filled when Shane Wahls retires at the end of June. Formal interviews are scheduled next week before a final decision is made.  Radio Dubuque
  • An Iowa appeals court affirmed the firing of a Dubuque Hempstead teacher who used a racial slur in class. The ruling overruled an earlier decision that had reinstated him.  KCRG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Dubuque will resume its curbside organics collection on Monday, Apr. 6 — a service that lets residents dispose of yard debris and food scraps on their regular pickup day. Residents must set out items by 6 a.m. using designated containers or decals.  WJOD

HEALTH NEWS

  • Crescent Community Health Center Pharmacy is partnering with Saint Vincent de Paul and Dispensary of Hope to provide free medications starting April 15. The program helps the uninsured, those with limited prescription coverage, and low-income households avoid rising out-of-pocket costs.  KCRG
