- ➤ Back Waters Amp at Q Casino + Resort will debut on July 4 with Whiskey Myers headlining and Taylor Hunnicutt opening the show, offering up to 8,000 seats along the Mississippi at Schmitt Island; tickets go on sale starting April 3. WJOD
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The north runway at Dubuque Regional Airport closes for construction this week to build a new taxiway for general aviation hangars. Work begins Monday and will finish in August + the west runway stays open. Radio Dubuque
- ➤ The U.S. Army will raise its maximum enlistment age to 42 effective April 20, codifying a 2023 policy that boosted recruitment numbers; veteran Al Rowell, who directs Dubuque’s Veterans' Freedom Center, supports the change (he said it opens service opportunities for experienced adults). KCRG
