- ➤ Ali Younes, an Iowa City man accused of choking a woman and stealing her earrings on the campus in 2022, will face trial on July 8 in Johnson County District Court — he fled to Jordan and returned on his own after a long manhunt, and a judge warned that no further delay would be allowed without a strong reason. - ➤ During Severe Weather Awareness Week, Dubuque County Emergency Management, Iowa Homeland Security and the National Weather Service join forces to teach storm safety with each day focused on a different risk such as lightning, tornadoes, preparedness, hail and wind, or floods.
