Good morning, Dubuque.

Dubuque police are asking for donations for the 14th annual Shop With A Cop event to help children buy back-to-school supplies later this year; contributions as checks or cash can be made through Key Services or dropped off at the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center from February through September.

The school board approved a $550-thousand roof replacement at Irving Elementary—part of a $6 million renovation that adds air conditioning and a new playground—and set a public hearing for the April board meeting; work is expected to finish this fall.

The Telegraph Herald reports that Hillcrest Family Services has listed its 75-bed Seippel Road facility for sale after a restructuring plan fell through due to state funding changes.

Officials say about 50 residents will be moved into smaller five-person homes around Dubuque.
