COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Travel Dubuque and local officials are asking residents to complete an online quiz by Feb. 4 to choose a community theme for the final stop of RAGBRAI. The bike trek will have an overnight stop in Dyersville on Friday, July 24 and end in Dubuque on Saturday, July 25.  Radio Dubuque
  • Residents with incomes below 80% of the Area Median Income can get trees and planting supplies across Dubuque. Applications are due by Feb. 28 for spring or July 31 for fall planting and include mulch & assistance for a project aiming to plant over 5,000 trees by 2029.  WJOD

ECONOMY NEWS

  • John Deere announced today that 24 employees will return mid-February to the Dubuque Works facility to support increased production for dozer assembly and general factory needs. The company had reduced staffing by about 133 positions last summer.  Radio Dubuque

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Dubuque Fire Department will unveil its new 2025 E-One Cyclone ladder truck at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2 in front of the Historic Federal Building (350 W. 6th Street), with staff on hand to answer questions before it goes into service early February.  WJOD

SPORTS NEWS

  • Dubuque will host the 2026 Winter Iowa Games from today to March 7, featuring the Jeff Ransom Indoor Soccer Classic at the Five Flags Center and table tennis to close, with events like alpine skiing at Sundown Mountain Resort and volleyball at local schools — drawing over 3,000 athletes statewide.  KWWL
