ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fire at The Airline Inn (10784 Highway 61) on Thursday caused an estimated $190,000 loss while local fire crews and the sheriff’s office responded promptly, and investigators worked to determine the cause with no injuries reported. KWWL
- ➤ Three local fire departments responded at around 2:45 p.m. today to a blaze that destroyed the Airline Inn tavern on Highway 61 just south of Dubuque, with no injuries reported and the building declared a total loss estimated at around $190K (cause under investigation). Radio Dubuque
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Ford is recalling over 116,000 vehicles because faulty engine block heaters can spark fires during Dubuque’s cold weather. Owners will be notified by Feb. 13 and repairs will be free when redesigned heaters are available — drivers should check for any warning signs. WJOD
