COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Dubuque residents can apply for the Community PEG Access Equipment Grant to fund local TV programming on PEG channels — individuals can request up to $5,000 and organizations up to $10,000. Proposals including equipment lists must be submitted by Feb. 22.  WJOD

BUSINESS NEWS

  • City leaders introduced the new Key Hotel today at Q Casino and Resort—this boutique hotel offers a bar and restaurant, with four of its seven floors open and additional rooms and a steakhouse arriving later this year.  KWWL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Illinois Department of Transportation completed reconstruction on 1.5 miles of U.S. 20 in East Dubuque from Frentress Lake Road to east of Barge Terminal Road — a $13 million project that started in late March and is expected to ease commuter travel.  Radio Dubuque

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • On a recent winter hike, Tom Drake explored icy waterfalls and frozen trails at Wisconsin’s Wyalusing State Park near Dubuque. His family logged five miles and saw one fall altered (dye changed the natural ice), reminding visitors to keep nature untouched.  WJOD

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The Dubuque City Council approved nearly $1.4 million in tax rebates and grants for GT Novelty Condos, LLC to construct 34 new condominiums in the Historic Millwork District on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Each unit (about 1,600 sqft) is expected to sell for roughly $290,000.  Radio Dubuque
